What's the best and worst thing about being an author?
The best thing about writing is being left alone to create a new world into which I become a complete part of. The worst thing about writing is being hassled to market your beloved novel which cancels out all the above.

Where did the inspiration for Nobody Loves a Bigfoot Like a Bigfoot Babe come from?
My inspiration for Nobody Loves a Bigfoot Like a Bigfoot Babe came to me during a particularly vivid dream after watching a Twin Peaks episode followed by the film Super Troopers – not recommended. Most of all I am dismayed by the amount of terrible B-movies depicting Bigfoot as a ferocious cannibalistic monster. I thought, why not portray him as a sweet-natured kinda guy?

Chaos Chronicles Book 1: Zephyr the West Wind by R.J. Tolson

17 years ago, in the island village of Dentro, lived a large and powerful demon. With just a howl, mountains were obliterated. With the help of an outsider, the chief of Dentro destroyed the demon and sealed its dark power into three powerful ancient weapons: a spear, shield, and a sword. After leaving the unwelcoming village, the man who helped destroy the demon took the sword in an effort to keep it away from the village. Months later, a villager bore the son of the outsider, breaking one of the sacred village laws in doing so.

Born into a village filled with people who hated him, Zephyr grew up without knowing why they did. With no friends, and eventually no family with the passing of his mother, Zephyr was forced to survive by himself as an outcast. Zephyr’s only wish being to make his mother proud and force the village to recognize him while surviving in a world filled with demons, paranormal abilities, love, hate and undiscovered lands.

What is it you love most about writing?
I love how it has the power to envelop one or many into a different universe, while still allowing us to be connected to each other through it.

Blue energy:  In your hands, it can heal the injured, find the lost and disable your enemies.  It can get you high and supersize your sex life.  If you're a Bluebody, you can live forever, unless you squander your gift.

Bluebodies: Everybody knows, they’re mentally unstable.  A threat to the social order.  And they stink!  Most of them end up in government hospitals.  Rumor has it, there’s a bounty on Blue.

‘Book of D’ is the story of D Boy, a twenty-something Blue in denial about his true nature, living under false ID’s with people who treat him badly, unemployable due to Blue traits he can't control. His life gets worse when he's forced to come into his gift, to save the tribe from extinction because, “When all the Blue are gone, the world will be gone.”

D's mentor in the ways of Blue is his half brother Ted, a psychotic trickster. Promising to train D as a 'cosmic consultant', Ted lures him to the Restricted Zone, where they meet a predatory cop, a young woman on a quest to get in touch with her dead sister and a cannibal she-devil, hot and ravenous for Blue.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your work as an author.
Only three people know I wrote BOOK OF D.  I’m trying to keep the writing from screwing up my personal life and vice versa.  Only a certain slice of the population is going to ‘get’ my stuff.  The rest of them will think it’s bad or even offensive.  There’s no way my boss or my grandma should see it.  ‘Jay Capron’ is a pseudonym.

Big Thanks To All The Authors Who Submitted Interviews To Author Quiz in 2012

To start the New Year off I want to say big thanks to all the authors who submitted interviews to Author Quiz during 2012, and hopefully there’ll be many more interviews published in 2013.  At one stage the backlog of interviews was down to about three weeks, but a recent rush of interview submissions has seen the waiting list grow to approximately eight weeks, so if any authors are considering submitting their own interview to be published on the blog then I would recommend submitting it as soon as possible.

Just to recap, Author Quiz provides authors with the opportunity to provide a personalised interview by answering questions from each of the categories found on the following page:

How To Get Featured On Author Quiz

Things are pretty flexible, so you can answer whichever questions you feel best introduce yourself to potential readers.  It also makes for a better interview in terms of presentation if you submit a book cover and author photo with your interview, and I also like to publish links to authors’ facebook and twitter pages, as well as of course sales links.
